Pet parents of Cincinnati
Hi my name is Robin with FRD. I am so glad to have you here with us today. I have several great delivery options and offer video calls to everyone no matter where you are located.
First lets jump into a few spots you need to check out.
Dog parks
Personally, I love dog parks with turf and fenced-in areas where I can let my Goldendoodle or Bernedoodle run freely without a leash and stay clean. That’s why I’m such a fan of the Dog Park at Washington Park — it has all of that and more.
Activities
If you love long walks and great views along a river check out Smale Riverfront Park. It overs just those things and more.
Food stops
Hungry? So is your furry friend! Head to Mazunte for great Mexican food and a welcoming patio where dogs are always invited.
Pre-puppy bonding
Driving four hours, sometimes multiple times, just to check in or decide which puppy is right for you can be exhausting, and we totally understand. That’s why we offer free FaceTime calls to every customer, no matter where you are. We love watching families meet their puppy in person for the first time, and already know exactly which one is theirs. The perfect match in temperament, color, and friendliness.
Getting your puppy home
Like I said driving four hours isn’t always possible with our busy lives, we get it. That is why with our trusted delivery options and a one hour flight we can have your puppy in your hands.

A breeder for the right reasons
Nothing but incredible things to say about Fawn River Doodles! Robin was so quick to respond and provided great info before we picked up our puppy. Their facility was super clean with fun play areas for the pups. And it was obvious our lil girl was so well cared for and adored Robin when we arrived to get her. He is clearly a breeder for the right reasons; he loves his dogs and wants to pass on that joy to other families. He has been incredible about checking on us frequently over the past two months and asking for updates on how she’s doing.
Lola has been the perfect addition to our family. Equal parts spunky/sweet, silly/smart, playful/cuddly, and so easy to train. She absolutely loves her big brother (a 1.5 year old bernedoodle) and all the other dogs she’s met! She’s still on the smaller side but not shy at all and loves to play with any dog. Not to mention we think she’s cute as can be!
Loves training sessions and is very responsive
Our handsome Berne is intelligent, curious and very eager to please! He loves training sessions and is very responsive. Robin’s description of parental traits is spot on so far in our pup.
Additionally Robin was patient and considerate in answering the many questions and concerns we cast upon him. I highly recommend Fawn River Doodles and will not hesitate on choosing them again if we decide to get another dog.
A service companion for our daughter
We are absolutely in love with our sweet Tilly girl from Fawn River Doodles! We had very specific needs in mind when searching for the right dog to become a service companion for our daughter, and Tilly has been the perfect fit. She has done incredibly well with training so far and is so gentle and loving with our three young daughters.
Robin went above and beyond to answer every question we had, always responding quickly and thoroughly, something we truly appreciated after speaking with other breeders who didn’t offer the same level of care or communication. They are such cute pups that parents decided to get one from the same litter! Everywhere we go, we get compliments on both Tilly’s beautiful appearance and her calm, well-mannered behavior.
We can’t recommend Fawn River Doodles enough. Thank you, Robin, for bringing Tilly into our lives!

How to choose a breeder you can trust?
Choosing a breeder is an important decision when adding a puppy to your family. Here are a few of the things we do to ensure the welfare of our puppies and parents.
Health & welfare of the parents
- Regularly exercise the parents
- Feed them high quality food they enjoy
- Genetic & health testing
- OFA testing
Communication
- Always available for a phone call or FaceTime video call
- Send puppy photo updates (and videos upon request)
Family screening
- Don’t accept deposit without approved application
- Match families with puppies using the BAB temperament program
Welcome & transparent
- You are welcome to come visit the puppies and parents
When investigating your breeder ask for a face to face meeting or a video call. It’s often easier to get an accurate picture of the breeder this way instead of relying on text messages and voice calls alone.
What is the BAB program?
BAB (Badass Breeder) is a program created by Jeanette Forrey to help breeders empower their puppies and give them a voice in what they need. It also makes a big difference in finding the right families for each puppy and the right puppy for each family.
Here’s what Jeanette has to say on why she created her program:
Puppies are raised to believe in themselves and be the best they can be through guiding emotional responses, meeting their innate needs in order, building confidence through intentional and purposeful curriculum and handling that aligns to their sensitive developmental benchmarks, and lastly, evaluating each puppy prior to placement to ensure their voice is heard and they are honored and respected not only with their breeder but with their new human as well.
Jeanette, founder of Badass Breeders
Here’s summary of a list of benefits for puppies raised on the BAB program.
Better Stress Handling
When the puppies are a few days old we start with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). This improves their stress responses later in life.
Improved Confidence
Early Scent Introduction (ESI) is also started at a few days old. It is a procedure to help with nose awareness and confidence.
Puppy/Family Temperament Matching
At 7-8 weeks we do temperament testing. This is a test that helps us place a puppy with the right family, and helps you pick a puppy that will thrive in your home.
Why do I want a puppy raised on the BAB program?
This is something we have been working on over the last couple years. It’s not something that happened overnight because it takes a lot of time.
We love our puppies and parents, and we always try to do our very best in raising and training our puppies. The BAB program has helped us so much because it’s a proven, structured approach to raising confident puppies. It has made such a difference in our puppies and how they transition into their new homes.
Better stress handling
We start when they are a few days old with Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS). This improves their stress responses later in life. We do this is by applying gentle stressors like gently pulling on their tail, rubbing between their toes, gently rubbing a hand over their eyes and face, turning them upside down. We do this all with great care and with much love.
Improved confidence
We also do Early Scent Introduction (ESI). It is a procedure to help with nose awareness and confidence. It enhances their ability to identify and react to scents. Similar to ENS this is introduced at days 3-16 of a puppies life and is very beneficial to their development.
We introduce the puppies to many new things each week starting at week 4. New toys in the whelping box and exposure to many sounds. When they are older they go outside to the play area to experience even more.
Puppy/family temperament matching
At 7-8 weeks we do temperament testing, this is a test that helps us place a puppy with the right family and helps you pick a puppy that will thrive in your home. This way everyone gets a voice in the placement process.
All of this takes a lot of time and energy, but the benefits have been so amazing since we have started that it just makes sense to keep doing it all– better placements, fewer problems, and fewer puppies that need to be re-homed.
